Collection: The Women’s Conclave

“No lock, no bolt, no barrier you could impose can hold back the freedom of my mind.”
— Virginia Woolf

What would the world be like if there were a Popess?
How do women decide, and under what conditions?
How much real access do we have to spaces of power and decision-making?

In medieval Rome, bishops were locked in until they reached an agreement on the new Pope.
From this comes the word conclave: “with a key.”

The key as a symbol:
a boundary between the public and the private,
between permitted and denied spaces,
between the visible and the silenced.

In the hands of others, the key subjects us to an imposed destiny.
In our hands, it opens a room of one’s own —
the intimacy of creation and the power that lives within us.

This women’s conclave gathers multiple voices,
active agents in our decisions.
A place where feminine energy becomes refuge,
creative power,
and above all, a loving transmission.
